The Spitfire is the most special lobster boat in Southern Maine and it helps us catch the best tasting lobsters around. At least we think so. Your Spitfire Special purchase includes:

This package will make a lovely dinner for 4- 6 adults. We suggest finishing it off with a fresh tossed salad or corn on the cob. For a special treat, grill some steaks and serve it “Surf ‘n Turf” style.

Enjoy this matted 5 x 7 archival print of a rower in Scarborough at sunset.

Scarborough is a beautiful coastal area just south of Portland. The Abenaki Indians called the area Owascoag, meaning “a place of much grass” after its large salt marshes. The tidal marshes and the rivers that run through them offer beautiful sanctuaries for wild life and the occasional kayaker or small boater.

Enjoy this matted 5 x 7 archival print that offers a unique view of the Portland Headlight.

Actually located in Cape Elizabeth, this historic lighthouse was originally constructed at the directive of George Washington, between 1787 and 1791, with many updates through the years. Today, Portland Head Light stands 80 feet above ground and 101 feet above water, its white conical tower being connected with a dwelling. The 200,000 candlepower aerobeacon is visible from 24 miles away.

In 1787, while Maine was still part of the state of Massachusetts, George Washington instructed two masons from the town of Portland to take charge of the construction of a lighthouse on Portland Head. Washington reminded them that the colonial government was poor and that the materials used to build the lighthouse should be taken from the fields and shores. The old tower, built of rubblestone, still stands as one of the four colonial lighthouses that have never been rebuilt.
