Shiny Maine Lobster Family

We are a seasonal business – we harvest our own lobsters and with the help and encouragement of our daughter & her partner, we are offering our limited catch to a few special people for the first time! Our dealer keeps telling us how we are one of just two or three lobstermen who sell him a really quality product and how he appreciates our lobsters (believe it or not, not all lobsters are the same!). So, we hope you will give our lobsters a try by buying directly from us.

Despite other careers – Capt’n Dave was an engineer & I was a mom and professional office worker – we have had various boats and lobstered since the 1960’s. There were times Capt’n Dave had bigger boats and crews and other times (like now) where it’s just him and me. My job has also included painting buoys, cutting pot warp (aka, rope) and painting trim on boat. Our daughters were raised around the business, helping out wherever they could.

Since we are now partially retired we lobster during the warm months, which in Maine are fairly limited to the likes of June, July, August and September – sometimes October too. Spitfire (our boat) sheds her shiny silver protective cover in early May and gets painted, polished, spit-shined and launched by Memorial Day.

Next come the lobster traps – about 200 or more. They get repaired and put in the water in early June – ready to start catchin’ the crustacean named The Maine Lobster. It really is an addictive activity – no matter how many years we’ve been doing this, we never know what we’ll find in next trap!

Please take a look at our different packages and if you like, give us a try! You can email us if you wish and visit our boat at the harbor in the summer.
