Enjoy this matted 5 x 7 archival print of summer dusk setting in at Biddeford Pool’s back bay. Biddeford Pool is the home of Spitfire and has been for most of Capt’n David’s past vessels.

The first European to reside in this area around 1616 was physician Richard Vine and he called it Winter Harbor. During King Philip’s War in 1675 settlers withdrew to Winter Harbor for safety. Today the area is known as Biddeford Pool (named after Bideford, a town in Devon, England) and visitors from all over the country withdraw there each year to enjoy the beautiful summers.
